Centacare is delighted to announce a new and unique program which targets parents/ carers who are misusing Alcohol and other Drugs (AOD).
In addition to a range of child focused interventions, the service will utilise a 12 module in-home program (Parents under Pressure) to increase parenting capacity, build healthy relationships with their children and provide safe family environments.
The KIF staff are all highly trained and experienced in working with families from this client group. They will work intensively with the families in the early stages and then reduce support as the parents develop and sustain their ability to parent effectively. There is capacity for parents to leave and re-enter the Program depending on their involvement with other services including AOD services.
Collaboration with other services, in particular those who provide specialist AOD service is crucial, therefore the KIF team will provide a wrap-around case management system if this is a necessity for the families.
